The exhaust manifold replacement process starts with placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL position and hoisting it before proceeding. Start by removing both the exhaust downpipe and exhaust intermediate pipe before disconnecting the electrical connector of the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S). The first step is to take out both the 4 exhaust manifold heat shield bolts along with the heat shield itself. Remove the 7 nuts from the exhaust manifold while discarding them for the exhaust manifold removal alongside the gasket. Pluck out the 7 exhaust manifold fasteners while discarding them afterward clean and visually inspect the exhaust manifold. 7 new exhaust manifold studs require installation according to 17 Nm (150 lb-in) torque setting. The correct torque specification for catalytic converter nuts must be achieved before you install the converter bracket bolts to stop exhaust leaks. You need to first use new nuts and the exhaust manifold gasket to attach and tighten the exhaust manifold in two steps of 48 Nm (35 lb-ft). The installation process includes replacing the exhaust manifold heat shield through reinstallation of its 4 bolts which should be tightened to 10 Nm (89 lb-in). Afterward, reinstall the exhaust downpipe and exhaust intermediate pipe.

Avoid using oil or grease-based lubricants on the insulators, as they may cause deterioration of the rubber and lead to the exhaust hanger insulator separating from the exhaust hanger bracket during vehicle operation.

Remove and discard the seven catalytic converter manifold studs.

Remove and discard the seven catalytic converter manifold nuts.

Remove and discard the U-bolt clamp assembly from the muffler, and tighten the new clamp to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) during installation.

Ensure the vehicle is in NEUTRAL and positioned on a hoist.

Attach the catalytic converter and muffler assembly to the three exhaust hangers.

Cracks, damaged gasket surfaces, or any other damage that would render it unfit for further use.

Remove and discard it, and tighten it to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) upon reinstallation.
