    Q: How to Service and Repair the Automatic Transmission Oil Cooler Line for the FNR5 on Mercury Milan?
    A: The repair of FNR5 transmission fluid cooler tubes needs to start by securing a neutral-gear vehicle on a hoist. The process of servicing FNR5 transmission fluid cooler tubes begins with tube removal from the Radiator followed by removal of seven bolts and front splash shield retention. This requires detachment of two screws together with four retainers and removal of four additional bolts. When disconnecting the lower transmission fluid cooler tube from the radiator maintain caution because the hose clamps use special epoxy that could harm the hose if stretched. Fluid cooler tube replacement is necessary in case of any observed damage. You should pull transmission fluid cooler tubes from their retainers while keeping the retainers in place on the shroud and extract each tube and its retainer separately. Install the new transmission fluid cooler tubes by placing them properly before installing the retainer where the Power Steering Hose should stay between the two cooler hoses. Connect the transaxle to the hoses afterward install the lower transmission fluid cooler tube to the radiator while securing it at a torque of 30 Nm. Begin by placing the front splash shield correctly and fastening it with two screws and four bolts before reinstalling the splash shield through seven bolts. Complete this task by attaching the upper transmission fluid cooler tube to the radiator while ensuring the tightness reaches 30 Nm (22 ft.lbs.). Afterward, inspect and properly fill the transmission fluid up to the correct level using automatic transmission fluid.
