  A: The risks for personal harm exist since servicing the fuel rail requires avoidance of open flames and smoking near fuel-related parts containing highly flammable mixtures. High pressure inside the fuel system remains present during engine idle so removing fuel system pressure before disconnecting fuel components is mandatory. The first step involves reducing fuel system pressure then unhooking the ground wire of the battery. Start by taking off the two nuts and the bolt as well as the generator air inlet duct. Remove the fuel rail insulator after detaching its two wiring retainers as well as disconnecting the fuel tube quick connect coupling from the fuel rail. You should start by disconnecting the two swirl control valve electrical connectors followed by vehicle Fuel Injector electrical connectors. You must remove both fuel rail bolts before extracting the fuel rail system with each fuel injector included. Discard all fuel injector retainer clips together with the fuel injectors after removing them from the engine block while discarding eight fuel injector O-ring seals. Installation requires new O-ring seals produced from fuel-resistant material while ordinary O-rings should not be reused because they might lead to leakages. Clean engine oil should be used for lubricating new O-ring seals before the fuel rail clips are properly seated for fuel injector and retainer clip installation into the fuel rail. Reinstall the fuel rail with the fuel injectors by threading in the two fuel rail bolts up to a torque of 23 Nm (17 lb-ft). Reinstall the four fuel injector electrical connectors together with the two swirl control valve electrical connectors. First attach the two wiring harness retainers to the fuel rail insulator followed by quick connecting the fuel tube coupling to the rail. Finish the repair by installing the generator air inlet duct along with its attached nuts and bolt while tightening them to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) then reattach the battery ground cable.
