  A: The service process for the fuel level sensor requires safety precaution by avoiding tobacco and both open flames and personnel electronic devices close to fuel components during fuel level sensor servicing. Clearing all pressure from the fuel system should be done before disconnecting components because it prevents uncontrollable fuel dispersion. Start the operation by taking out the fuel pump module then remember the position of the sending unit wire for restoration. Start by removing the heat shrink tube from the electrical connector of the fuel pump module wire harness before detaching the sending unit wire from this harness. Proceed by unscrewing the unit then lift it out to extract the fuel gauge sending unit. When installing the fuel gauge sending unit wire you must pass it through the fuel pump module center facing the metal plate along with the other wire. Place the fuel gauge sending unit onto the fuel pump module while orienting the grounding eyelet towards the front side followed by screw installation through the ground. A heat gun should be used to heat the heat shrink tube after sliding it on the wire harness during electrical connector connection. Cover the sending unit wire around the fuel pump module wire harness while ensuring it does not block the float arm motion of the fuel gauge sending unit before putting back the fuel pump module.
