How to Service the EGR Valve on Mercury Mountaineer?

The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve demands service which begins with placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL position at a hoist. Start the service by removing the air cleaner outlet tube. The service requires following the sequence of instructions from illustrations while carefully taking out components according to their sequential order. The reverse sequence should be applied to install all components after removal. The EGR valve sealing surfaces which are made of soft metals require careful cleaning before reinstalling.
