How to service and repair the parking assist distance sensor on Mercury Mountaineer?

The first step for servicing or repairing the parking assist distance sensor of the Mountaineer and Explorer Sport Trac requires bumper cover removal. To continue service and repair work disconnect all electrical connectors attached to the parking aid sensor installation. Push the retaining tabs on the parking aid sensors to remove them. Install new sensor(s) by following the opposite directions of removal.
