  Start the repair of the front door exterior handle by removing the ground cable from the battery. You should peel back the door watershield using a plastic knife to cut the Butyl strip yet maintain contact with the adhesive surface free of direct touch as this damages re-bonding. Hold the latch remote control illumination lamp electrical connectors at their two ends to remove the control through unscrewing the screws and carefully prying the handle housing from its place. Start by removing the outer door handle bezel after disconnecting electrical connectors and detaching wiring harness. Then remove the latch screws before you can take out the bolts. Drill the handle and latch assembly out from the door while disconnecting the actuator electrical connector and taking out the latch actuating rod by prying the retaining clip. To begin disconnection of the door handle start by moving the two rubber lugs towards each other while removing the handle from its holes. A 90-degree rotation of the door handle enables you to remove the actuator rod from the latch lever.
