  A: Service and repair of the trunk or liftgate latch starts with unmounting the luggage compartment trim panel after unscrewing and dismantling clips followed by lifting away the trim panel. Start by removing the right-hand side trim panel retainer from the luggage compartment side at the same time as pulling the panel forward to take out the actuating cable. First detach the retaining clip which anchors the luggage compartment door lock cylinder then you can disconnect the lock cylinder before proceeding to remove the lock cylinder housing. You should perform the reverse steps when installing the component.
