  A: The service or repair procedure for the rear cross-member of the axle housing starts with removing the rear spindles and stabilizer bar followed by placement of jackstands under the rear axle. Start the repair by removing the two Anti-lock Brake Sensor (ABS) harnesses which connect through the axle clips and then disassemble the two ABS sensor clip bolts. First disconnect the brake hoses from the axle by unpins the clips and remove the hoses from their position. Safety precautions require immediate handwashing following brake fluid contact because it contains polyglycols and polyglycol ethers that cause irritation. Eye contact requires 15-minute flushing with running water. Any spillage of brake fluid demands immediate water washing since it poses damage to painted and plastic surfaces.
