    Q:
How to Service the A/C Accumulator in the HVAC System on Ford F-150 Heritage? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step in servicing the suction accumulator within HVAC is disconnecting the ground cable from the battery and removing the junction block splash shield. The first step includes detaching the starter relay's two cable ends followed by unbolted removal of the junction block bracket holding bolts. Recovery of refrigerant requires two steps before disconnecting the electrical connector on the A/C cycling switch and the manifold along with the tube fitting. Throw away the O-ring seals. To uninstall the suction accumulator/drier spring lock coupling from the A/C evaporator core users must first remove the accumulator bracket clamping bolt while discarding all O-ring seals. Remove the suction accumulator and then disconnect the A/C cycling switch from its upper position. Before reinstallation follow the uninstallation steps while applying new O-rings which should be lubricated with clean mineral oil and perform correct amounts of clean mineral oil lubrication on the refrigerant system. The appropriate lubricant for an A/C compressor is Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or equivalent Ford-approved product WSH-M1C231-B. Just use Refrigerant Compressor Oil (Mineral Oil) F73Z-19577-AA (Motorcraft YN-9-A) to lubricate R-134a refrigerant system O-ring seals but do not use it as compressor lubricant for R-134a refrigerant system. New suction accumulators should be installed only when evidence shows the system is contaminated by either a non-functional A/C compressor or damage to the accumulator.

    Q:
How to Service the A/C Accumulator in the HVAC System on Lincoln Mark LT? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure to serve the suction accumulator starts with refrigerant recovery. Beginning with the PCM and battery and battery tray removal, service the technicians on technicians to remove the PCM bracket through undoing three PCM bracket bolts until they reach a torque of 10 Nm (89 lb-in) when reinstalling the bracket. Connect the suction accumulator outlet to a new O-ring seal while tightening it at 8 Nm (71 lbs-in). Removing the suction accumulator inlet fitting should be followed by getting rid of its O-ring seals. Follow the installation procedure for the two suction accumulator bracket nuts by tightening them to 9 Nm (80 lb-in). The replacement of the suction accumulator includes installing new O-ring seals followed by correct clean PAG oil lubrication of the refrigerant system. Reinstall following the inverse order of removal steps. Evacuation of the refrigerant system should be followed by leak testing and charging procedures.
