Repair and service operations on the lower control arm should start with spring removal. The service sequence starts with removing the cam adjuster nut, cam adjuster, cam bolt as well as the lower arm before discarding the nut. Tighten the new nut to 101 Nm (74 lb-ft) on the bushing fastener tightening position of the suspension. To prevent bushing damage, position the suspension at the bushing fastener tightening height when using a suitable jack to lift the suspension until the hub-center to fender-lip distance equals 395 mm (15.55 in). Welders should avoid complete tightness of the cam adjuster nut until rear alignment tests lead to required adjustments. Attach the cam bolt to its upright position together with the cam adjuster during reinstallation before executing the reversal of removal steps to finish the installation. The use of new parts with authentic part numbers or equivalent matches is mandatory because inferior materials or design substitutes will create operational problems and higher service expenses.

Position the shock absorber as necessary to remove the upper arm, then discard the upper arm inboard bolt and remove the upper arm.

It should not be fully tightened until the suspension is at the bushing fastener tightening position.

Take out the cam adjuster, cam bolt, and lower arm.

Tighten the upper arm-to-body bolts to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft) and then remove the drill bit.

Take out the cam adjuster nut, cam adjuster, cam bolt, and the lower arm, discarding the nut.

It is crucial to avoid incorrect clamp load and potential bushing damage.

Remove and discard the upper arm outboard bolt, then install a new bolt, tightening it to 110 Nm (81 lb-ft) with the suspension at the bushing fastener tightening position.

Begin by removing the spring.

Remove the bolt flagnut and damper, discard both, and install a new bolt and flagnut, tightening them to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).
