Throttle Body

Service of the throttle body begins by disconnecting the battery ground cable while removing engine cover components before taking out the engine air cleaner assembly and air cleaner outlet tube. The electronic throttle body electrical connector together with the throttle position sensor electrical connector must be disconnected only after pulling out the red clip. The first step includes removing four bolts from the throttle body before you dispose of the worn gasket. Use a new throttle body gasket before installing the throttle body with its bolts while performing two-stage tightening at 10 Nm (89 lb-in) followed by 90 degrees. To finish the installation connect the throttle position sensor electrical connector by removing the red clip followed by connecting the electronic throttle body electrical connector while securing its red clip. The installation process requires replacement of the engine air cleaner assembly and the air cleaner outlet tube with addition of the engine cover and re-fixing the battery ground cable.

The servicing of throttle body requires safety precautions to maintain distance from any lighting sources and cigarettes near fuel components since these areas contain highly flammable fuel mixtures that lead to safety concerns. The throttle body bore and plate area feature an uncleanable special coating. The first task involves removing the air cleaner assembly prior to unclipping the snow shield from the throttle body. The service starts by disconnecting the electrical connector of the Throttle Position (TP) sensor then removing the accelerator and speed control actuator cables after ensuring no cable kinking will occur. Check the condition of the gasket before adding a new one when performing the replacement. You should uninstall the components in the reverse order of assembly to finish the service.

Service safety demands avoiding all exposure to smoke and flames in the vicinity of fuel-related pieces since flammable mixtures exist and may cause bodily harm. The throttle body bore alongside plate area features an uncleanable special coating. The service starts with air cleaner assembly removal from throttle body followed by unclipping the snow shield. The driver must disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector while removing both the accelerator cable and speed control actuator cable if the vehicle has this equipment. During this process avoid bending the cable wires. The inspection process for the throttle body gasket requires replacement with a new gasket if needed. The service must be finished by performing the opposite steps used during removal to accomplish installation.

Reconnect the throttle position sensor electrical connector and throttle body controls, including the accelerator cable and speed control cable (if equipped), and reinstall the throttle control return spring.

Push back the red clip after reconnecting it.

Remove the air cleaner assembly and the air cleaner outlet tube.

Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.

Take off the throttle body and discard the TB gasket.
