Service on the air filter box starts by disconnecting the mass air flow sensor electrical connection. After removing the clamp and disconnecting the air filter box outlet pipe from the air filter box, it should be reinstalled with 5 Nm (44 lb-in) tension. When installing the air filter box bolt, users should tighten it to 9 Nm (80 lb-in). Human hands can manage the air filter box assembly removal process without requiring additional tools since operators can disconnect the rubber grommets from the two air filter box feet. Reinstallation should include proper positioning of air filter box feet within rubber grommets and thorough sealing of the outlet pipe because faulty installation may cause engine pollution. Install hardware according to the reverse sequence through which you removed items.

The first step to work on the air filter box requires disconnecting the battery ground cable. The second step involves detaching both the MAF sensor electrical connector and the wiring harness retainer. After disconnecting the air filter outlet pipe from the air filter box, you must tighten its clamp to 5 Nm (44 lb-in) when reinstalling. Untighten the three bolts of the air filter box assembly before replacing them with a torque setting of 5 Nm at 44 lb-in. Disassemble the air filter box assembly by taking off the two feet until they are separate from their rubber grommets plus the air filter inlet pipe. The two air filter box feet must be aligned correctly into the rubber grommets below the assembly while also ensuring that the outlet pipe has a tight seal to block unmetered air from entering the engine. The complaint procedure ends with doing the opposite steps used for removal.

The service of the air filter box begins when technicians disconnect first the MAF sensor electrical connection then remove the wiring harness retainer.
