The right-hand catalytic converter must be removed first while also disconnecting the HO2S electrical connector. The right-hand exhaust manifold heat shield needs its three bolts removed before installation where each bolt requires tightening to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.). Service the EGR system module tube from the exhaust manifold by disconnecting it while installing it with a torque of 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). After nuts removal from the six mounting points of the right-hand exhaust manifold you must tighten them to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). The repair requires installing a fresh exhaust manifold gasket and trashing the former one before carrying out the reverse order of removal steps for reinstallation.

Service of the right-hand exhaust manifold requires neutral gear position along with a hoist-supported vehicle. Remove the right-hand exhaust manifold with its gasket as you dispose of the gasket material. Complete the task by taking away the three remaining studs and installing them tightly at 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.). To reinstall the exhaust manifold technicians must use new gaskets and studs as well as nuts requiring the reverse steps of removal.

Start the service of the right-hand exhaust manifold by positioning the vehicle in neutral on a hoist. Perform this work by first taking off the right-hand catalytic converter then disabling power to the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector. Begin the right-hand exhaust manifold heat shield removal process by unbolting its three components using 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) torque while installing them back with the same strength. For reinstalling the exhaust manifold it is essential to tighten the EGR system module tube against the exhaust manifold to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft). After discarding six right-hand manifold exhaust nuts install them with a torque of 20 Nm (15 lb-ft). Replace and discard the three rear cylinder head studs before reinstalling brand new ones that should be tightened to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Extraction of the right-hand exhaust manifold with its gasket requires disposal of the gasket. Finally, remove the three rear studs and discard them but reinstall them with a torque of 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). You need to use fresh hardware consisting of an exhaust manifold gasket together with studs and nuts while performing the installation by following the removal steps in reverse order.

Tighten these nuts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) upon reinstallation.

Begin by removing the cooling fans and disconnecting the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.

Complete the installation by reversing the removal procedure.
