The first step to service the LH exhaust manifold requires removing the oil level indicator extension and the oil level indicator tube first before taking out the nut along with the tube once more while discarding the oil level indicator tube O-ring. Lift the vehicle using the recommended methods before removing the engine cover. Remove the LH Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S) electrical connector before you disconnect the Y-pipe from the LH exhaust manifold with its nuts. The LH exhaust manifold together with its gasket must be removed when all LH stud bolts and bolts are removed along with the disposal of the gasket itself. Follow the installation steps by using a new gasket while you tighten all bolts according to their specified sequence in the opposite order of removal.

The service on the LH exhaust manifold should start with removing the oil level indicator extension followed by both the nut and oil level indicator tube removal. Dispose of the oil level indicator tube O-ring during this process. The next step involves lifting and supporting the vehicle before you should remove the engine cover. Disconnect the electrical connector of the LH Heated Oxygen Sensor (H02S) while removing nuts to separate the Y-pipe from the LH exhaust manifold. The LH exhaust manifold gasket along with the manifold must be taken out by unthreading the LH stud bolts and bolts before discarding the gasket. The installation requires a new gasket along with following the bolt tightening sequence during reverse installation steps.

Remove the six nuts, the left-hand exhaust manifold, and the gasket, discarding both the nuts and the gasket.

Reverse the removal steps and tighten the exhaust manifold retainers in the specified sequence.

Position the vehicle on a hoist with the transmission in neutral and remove the engine cover.

Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts in the specified sequence to ensure proper sealing and function.

Reverse the removal procedure and tighten the exhaust manifold nuts in the specified sequence.

Remove the front fender splash shield, followed by the nuts securing the exhaust manifold, and then remove the manifold itself, discarding the old gasket.

Remove the eight nuts securing the exhaust manifold and discard these as well, followed by the removal and disposal of the exhaust manifold gasket.

Ensure the vehicle is in neutral and positioned on a hoist.

Avoid using metal scrapers or abrasive tools.

The exhaust manifold and the gaskets.

Reinstall the engine cover.

Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold.

Install the EGR system module-to-exhaust manifold tube, hand-tightening the upper and lower fittings first, then tightening to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).

Remove the four exhaust Y-pipe flange nuts and the eight exhaust manifold nuts.

Remove the two nuts connecting the three-way catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold and disconnect the Y-pipe from the right-hand exhaust manifold.

Detach the dual converter Y-pipe by removing the two nuts.

Remove the two nuts securing it.

Remove the LH inner fenderwell.
