Starting the repair process of an exterior front door handle first requires removal of the front door trim panel. The bolt securing the interior door handle needs removal before you tighten it to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) when reinstalling it. Before doing further work you need to position the watershield aside then disconnect the exterior mirror electrical connector together with the remote keyless entry (RKE) keypad and front door disarm switch electrical connectors if applicable. You can access the glass clamp bolts by pushing the wiring harness grommet through the door module while adjusting the front door glass. Secure the window at maximum height throughout installation by applying tape then tighten both window glass clamp bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). The front door lock cylinder rod and exterior door handle actuating rod require detachment from the front door latch during the process. You should remove the three front door latch bolts before tightening them to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) when reinstalling them. You must remove eleven bolts from the door module before moving it away but tighten them to 8 Nm (71 lb-in) before reinstalling the bolts. When reinstalling this unit you should tighten the exterior door handle cap along with the bolt nut to 7 Nm (62 lb-in). To remove the exterior door handle bracket from inside the door one must first remove the exterior door handle together with the exterior door handle bracket bolt. You should follow the reverse course of removal to finish the installation.

Disconnect the interior door handle actuating cable.

Install the exterior door handle cap on the bezel and reinstall the rear door latch.

Loosely install the bolt.

Position the door module and install the 11 bolts, tightening to 8 Nm (71 lb-in), followed by the three front door latch bolts tightened to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

Remove the nut and the exterior door handle and bracket, ensuring to tighten the nut to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) during reinstallation, and complete the process by reversing the removal steps.

Tighten the interior door handle bolt to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) and install the door handle bezel.
