    Q:
How to service the auxiliary heater core on Ford Five Hundred? Posted by Customer
    A:
A service of the auxiliary heater core requires removal of the LH quarter trim panel along with 9 screws attaching the auxiliary heater core cover. First empty the engine coolant while setting the heater core tubes on an appropriate drain pan to stop coolant leaking into the vehicle. The service of the auxiliary heater core begins with the removal of the inlet hose clamp followed by disconnecting the hose and then repeating the process for the outlet hose. Reinstall the auxiliary heater core by performing its installation steps in reverse order alongside filling the engine cooling system as the last step.

    Q:
How to Service and Repair a Heater Core on Mercury Montego? Posted by Customer
    A:
A pressure leak test must come first when servicing the heater core but only proceed if there is a reason to believe leaks exist. The first step requires the instrument panel cross beam and the dash panel seal to be detached from the heater core tubes. You must first remove two screws which retain the heater core tube bracket and then separate the bracket from its position. The first step includes removing power from the evaporator discharge air temperature sensor before disconnecting the LH temperature blend door actuator connector. The LH temperature blend door actuator requires removal of three screws before taking out the actuator unit. The first step is to unscrew the three screws at the heater core cover followed by removing the cover itself. Finally, remove the heater core. The process of heater core installation involves performing the opposite operations which were used for removal.
