How to service the heater core on Ford Explorer?

A pressure leak test should be your first step when servicing the heater core when a leak exists. Start the heater core maintenance by removing both components together with the evaporator core housing followed by disassembly of two left-hand floor duct screws and the left-hand floor duct. The starting point of heater core servicing is to remove both right-hand floor duct screws before removing the right-hand floor duct. Perform the removal of housing brace screws alongside housing brace and screws securing the three housing braces. The first step is to disconnect the heater tube cover screws and after that disconnect the heater tube cover and heater tube seal. The removal procedure starts with handling the heater core cover screws until you extract both the cover along with the heater core. Reverse the steps of removal to reinstall the components as the final step of the service.

How to service the heater core on Ford Ranger?

Service of the heater core requires leak assessment before component removal. The procedure starts with removing both the evaporator core housing followed by the instrument panel. Start by taking out the PCM and its heat sink by first disconnecting the ground strap screw and detaching the heat sink unit separately. Install the plenum chamber on the vehicle floor by fastening the four engine-side dash panel nuts at 4 Nm(35 lb-in) torque. The installation starts by uninstalling the heater core cover through its screws followed by heater core removal. The installation process requires following the reverse order of removal steps with an additional step of adding new oval foam seal around the heater core inlet and outlet tubes.

How to service the heater core on Ford Mustang?

Start the heater core service operation by removing both the evaporator core housing and foam weather seal. Proceed by removing the screws which will allow you to take off the heater core cover before extracting the heater core. The installation process should start by reversing removal steps while adding fresh oval foam weather seal placements adjacent to heater core inlet and outlet tubes.

The first step is to disconnect the heater tube cover screws and after that disconnect the heater tube cover and heater tube seal. The removal procedure starts with handling the heater core cover screws until you extract both the cover along with the heater core. Reverse the steps of removal to reinstall the components as the final step of the service.
