The procedure requires professionals to detach the power steering line clamp plate bolt while rotating the clamp plate for removal of the power steering return line from the power steering gear. Discard the O-ring seals and bolt. The installation process demands a 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) torque before performing the removal procedure in reverse order to complete the power steering system filling step.

Initial steps for servicing the steering gear to fluid cooler return hose require removal of the radiator grille. Placing the power steering return line-to-fluid cooler hose into a suitable container requires releasing the clamp first before disconnecting it from the hose. Place the vehicle in NEUTRAL position then position it on a hoist. When power steering lines disconnect from the steering gear it is mandatory to install fresh O-ring seals. You must first uninstall the power steering line clamp plate bolt before rotating the clamp plate and separating the power steering return line from the power steering gear by throwing out the old O-ring seal.
