The process to uninstall and install a front door latch requires removal of the front door trim panel as a first step. You need to remove the single door screw before pushing the interior door handle forward to detach its tabs from the door surface. The water shield goes aside as the cable conduit releases from the inside door handle before the cable end slides from the door handle pivot. Removing the door lock actuator requires unfastening its rivets while also disconnecting door lock cylinder and exterior door handle actuating rods when specified. Before uninstalling the front door latch assembly remove its screws while also disconnecting the door lock actuator electrical connector. The installation requires following the reverse order of removal steps by securing screws to 12 Nm (106 lb-in) and utilizing the Heavy Duty Riveter to replace needed rivets.

The service and repair of the sliding door latch require you to start by taking off both the door trim panel and watershield. The next step involves disconnecting both the door handle rod together with the lock cylinder rod. The bolt removal process should start with an actuator rivet drilling operation if applicable. The service and repair of the sliding door latch requires detachment of all latch cables followed by removal of remaining bolts. An assembly consisting of the latch remote control and push button rod with the lock cylinder rod and outside handle rod alongside the power door lock actuator should be removed last. Follow the exact opposite order of the removal protocol to reassemble the components.

For the upper latch, release the upper latch cable locator from the door and remove the latch bolts.

For the lower latch on the rear door, remove the bolts and the lower door latch.

Tighten the bolt to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

Remove the door latch, door latch remote control and cable(s), lock cylinder rod, push-button rod, and power door lock actuator.

Remove two screws and tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) upon installation.

Reverse the removal procedure.

Some vehicles may have insulating foam in the door frame, and a fishing line may be necessary to assist in installing the new latch and cable assembly through the foam.

Release the appropriate actuation cable clip by pushing the bottom keeper upward and sliding the clip toward the outside of the door, followed by disconnecting the cable from the interior door handle.

Remove the door latch, latch remote control cable, lock cylinder rod, push-button rod, and power door lock actuator.
