Water Pump

The procedure to service and repair the water pump starts by removing the radiator followed by a lifting of the accessory drive belt tensioner to uninstall the accessory drive belt. First disconnect the belt idler pulley before sliding the water bypass hose clamp backward. First disconnect the heater hose from the water pump through clamp release and hose removal while also disconnecting the lower radiator hose in a similar fashion at the water pump position. Next proceed with taking off both the water pump pulley and then the water pump itself. Prior to new water pump installation use Metal Surface Cleaner F4AZ-1DA536-RA or equivalent WSE-M5B392-A specification from Ford together with a plastic or wooden scraper to prepare the sealing surfaces. You must attach the water bypass hose together with the clamp before installing the water pump pulley. Attach the lower radiator hose to the water pump after hose positioning and then secure it with the clamp while also connecting the heater hose in the same manner. The last installation steps include positioning the belt idler pulley followed by lifting the accessory drive belt tensioner to install the drive belt and replacing the radiator.

The water pump repair process begins with cooling system drainage before removing the drive belt together with fan blade and fan clutch. The service starts with removing the water pump's bolts along with the inlet tube that requires discarding the O-ring seal before removing the water pump bolts. The water pump installation requires Premium Long-Life Grease XG-1-C or XG-1-K or an equivalent product meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-13 which needs application at three water pump locations followed by placement of new O-ring seals. The installation process requires a new O-ring seal that must receive a coating of Pipe Sealant with Teflon 138AZ-19554-A or an equivalent material which satisfies Ford specifications WSK-M2G350-A2 and ESR-M18P7-A. Reinstallation of the inlet tube and fan blade and drive belt should be followed by cooling system water filling.

Draining the cooling system represents the first procedure for servicing and repairing the water pump. Proceed with your work by first removing the drive belt then the fan blade with the fan clutch afterward. The initial step starts with discarding the O-ring seal from the inlet tube and removing its bolts. Detach the bolts which secure the water pump first. The water pump installation requires application of long-life grease in three specified spots followed by correct positioning of a new O-ring seal while applying pipe sealant to the O-ring. Begin by installing the water pump and afterward reattach the inlet tube before putting on the fan blade and drive belt. To finish the procedure please fill the cooling system.

The first step for attending to the water pump involves draining the cooling system. The service begins by removing the drive belt before proceeding with bolt removal on the water pump pulley. The following step involves removing all water pump securing bolts. The installer should lubricate the water pump O-ring with MERPOL before installing it into the system.
