The setup starts with disconnecting the washer hose when you prepare to remove the cowl panel grille using pushpin-type retainers. Now extract the grommet from the washer hose at the cowl panel then place the hose to the side. Take out the A/C air inlet filter only if present. The process begins by taking out the nine cowl panel bolts before setting the cowl panel to the side. The vehicle requires the windshield wiper motor electrical connector off and the removal of the cowl panel. Uninstall the wiper pivot arms after removing their bolt from the wiper motor. To remove the wiper pivot arms safely you should use a tool to separate them from the wiper pivot ball at its socket connection. Seal the pivot arm socket onto the pivot ball by applying enough pressure until it reaches complete insertion. Connect the pivot arms to the windshield wiper motor before installing the bolt while tightening it to 15 Nm (11 lb-ft). Reinstall the cowl panel after which reconnect the electrical connector that goes to the windshield wiper motor. Install the washer hose with grommet inside the cowl panel before installing and tightening the nine cowl panel bolts to 6 Nm (53 lb-in). Reinstall the A/C air inlet filter only when it applies. After placing the cowl panel grille in position the washer hose needs to be reconnected and the pushpins must be installed. Finish the job by reattaching the windshield wiper arms along with their nuts which should be tightened to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft). After that cycle the windshield wipers to verify proper positioning.

Install the washer hose with its grommet through the cowl panel before proceeding to secure the nine cowl panel bolts at 6 Nm (53 lb-in). Refit the A/C air inlet filter only if it needs replacement. You must position the cowl panel grille inside the vehicle after which you must connect the washer hose before inserting the push-pins. Installation of the windshield wiper arms needs to begin with tightening the wiper nuts to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft) before winding and parking the wipers to check their alignment.

Before proceeding install A/C air inlet filter when needed then place the cowl panel grille inside the vehicle and route the washer hose into position. Apply the pushpins before installing the windshield wiper arms with nuts set to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft). To guarantee proper alignment complete a windshield wiper cycle until the wipers reach their parking position.
