    Your first step for servicing and repairing the crankshaft main bearing seal should start with oil pan uninstallation followed by maintaining pan cleanness to protect oil and coolant passages from foreign material entry that may cause engine failure. The Heavy Duty Floor Crane with Spreader Bar should be used to detach the engine from its stand. Disconnect the electrical connector of the Crankshaft Position sensor while also removing its bolt. Apply the Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Remover and Slide Hammer to pull out the rear crankshaft seal followed by its disposal. Significantly tighten two M6 oil pan bolts that were inserted into the threaded holes of the crankshaft rear seal retainer. Apply this alternating torque to release the retainer after installing two bolts with loose threads. Clean the crankshaft rear seal retainer plate with a 3M™ Roloc® Bristle Disk (2-in white, part number 07528) at 15,000 rpm speed and finish by washing it thoroughly. Engine cavities should receive protection from contamination through clean lint-free shop towels before workers remove them securely. Cylinder block sealing surfaces need preparation that includes silicone/gasket material removal followed by application of silicone gasket remover and waiting for it to set before cleaning the surfaces. Application of the solution may need repetition for remaining deposits. Metal surface prep completes the cleaning process since traces of oil and coolant must be removed before surface bonding without requiring the metal to become shiny because staining during preparation is acceptable.
