How to replace a rear Crankshaft Seal in 2.0L SPI engine on Ford Focus?

Disconnect the battery negative cable and remove the transaxle. For automatic transaxle models, remove the driveplate, while for manual transaxle models, remove the flywheel. Pry the old seal out of the seal retainer using a seal removal tool or a screwdriver with its tip protected by a rag. Coat the lip of the new seal with clean engine oil and press it into position. If the seal retainer is removed from the engine, use a block of wood and a hammer; if the retainer is still on the engine, use a special tool available at most auto parts stores. The remainder of installation follows the reverse order of removal steps. Finally, run the engine and check for oil leaks.

How to remove and install the rear Crankshaft Seal in a SOHC four-cylinder engine on 2000-2011 Ford Ranger?

No longer do you need the transmission and clutch and pressure plate if so equipped to get to the Crankshaft Seal in the back of the engine. Subsequently, it is necessary to take out the flywheel or the driveplate. To a small punch two holes on opposite sides of the seal and screw small sheet metal screws in the seal. Turn two large screwdrivers over the screws and pry on every screw until the seal is taken out off the engine if required use small pieces of wooden block on the block of the engine. Tightening of the bolts will be done in turn to ensure that the seal is properly placed in to position. If a special seal installer is not available use a section of the suitable diameter plastic pipe and force the seal into place using a soft-faced hammer. The remainder of the installation is precisely in the reversal of the removal process depending on the type of card.
