The service and repair of a steering angle sensor commences by detaching the electrical connection of the steering wheel rotation sensor. The next step involves removing the two securing bolts while following it with new sensor installation through reversed procedure steps followed by bolt tightening at 3 Nm (27 lb-in). The installation of an uncalibrated sensor will trigger a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) to set up in the ABS module. A sensor calibration requires you to begin engine operation followed by turning the wheel between full lock positions at least twice.

Wiring the steering wheel rotation sensor requires a first step of disconnecting its electrical connector. Follow these steps to remove the sensor by first uninstalling its two securing bolts then apply the new sensor while reversing the previous steps but remember to tighten bolts to 3 Nm (27 lb-in). Installation of the sensor requires calibration otherwise the ABS module will set a diagnostic trouble code. The calibration process for the sensor begins when you start the engine then steer the wheel from complete lock to complete lock at least two times.
