You should start the oil pressure switch servicing by maintaining a clean environment to stop foreign matter from getting into oil or coolant channels that could lead to engine breakdown. The work starts by removing the generator before moving to the accessory drive belt idler pulley removal. The procedure starts with removing the generator brace bolt while also uninstalling the two bolts from the A/C compressor mounting bracket brace. An assembly consisting of the A/C compressor mounting bracket brace along with its two long bolts and generator mounting bracket requires removal with attention to vehicle frame to engine clearance space. Reinstallation should include generator brace bolt torque set to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs) and A/C compressor mounting bracket brace bolts set to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs) and the oil pressure switch set to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs). To complete the process disconnect the oil pressure switch electrical connector before installing the components.

The initial step when servicing the oil pressure switch is keeping the area clean to protect engine failure from foreign objects in the oil or coolant passages. The first action should be removing the generator and then disassembling the idler pulley. The A/C wiring harness needs to be unclipped from the generator bracket brace. You must remove both the bolts securing the generator bracket together with the bracket brace from the vehicle as an assembled piece. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure switch then remove the switch. The process of installation requires performing the steps in opposite order to removal.

A proper servicing of the oil pressure switch requires a clean working area to avoid foreign objects from entering the oil or coolant system which could result in engine failure. Before accessing the oil pressure switch, you must first remove the generator followed by removal of the accessory drive belt idler pulley along with the generator brace bolt which requires 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) torque when rejoining. Install the two A/C compressor mounting bracket brace bolts using 25 Nm (18 feet pounds) torque when ready for reuse. The installation requires removal of the A/C compressor mounting bracket brace, as well as the two long bolts and generator mounting bracket as one assembly unit before installation while tightening the assembly to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) torque. After disconnecting the electrical connection of the oil pressure switch, the technician must remove it before reinstalling the component with a torque setting of 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Finish the installation by reversing all original removal methods.

Ensure cleanliness to prevent foreign material from entering oil or coolant passages.

Place the oil pressure switch back in position.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sender.
