How to remove and install the Oil Pressure Switch in 2.3L and 2.0L engine on Ford Focus?

Located on the front of the cylinder block is the oil filter housing, the switch is then screwed so as to be removed from it together with the oil pressure sending unit. First of all, remove the negative terminal of the battery. If required, lift the front of the vehicle and support it on axle stands in a manner that provides a clear and easy access to the switch. Subsequently, remove the wiring connector and undo the Oil Pressure Switch by pulling gently and be ready to encounter some loss of oil. For installation, the process is basic, by unscrewing the switch base follow the reverse of the above process by applying a thin layer of a compatible seal to the threads of the switch and tightening the switch until it reaches the correct torque wrench setting. Following installation, check the engine oil and fill as required whilst checking for oil leakage should be checked after the engine has been restarted and brought up to operating temperature.

How to remove and install the Oil Pressure Switch on 1993-2011 Ford Ranger?

To remove the switch, first, locate it screwed into an oil filter adapter at the oil filter. Ensure the vehicle is parked on firm, level ground, then open the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Unplug the wiring from the Oil Pressure Switch and unscrew it, being prepared for some oil loss. For installation, reverse the removal process while noting to apply a small amount of pipe sealant (Teflon type) to the switch threads and install it securely. After installation, check the engine oil level and top it off as necessary, then verify the correct operation of the oil warning light and inspect for signs of oil leaks once the engine has been started and fully warmed up.
