EGR Valve

The EGR valve maintenance process should start by removing the air cleaner outlet tube followed by unconnecting the intake air bypass hose together with positive crankcase ventilation hoses. The exhaust gas recirculation valve requires tube removal before extraction of the valve which should be performed while disconnecting the vacuum hose. Service personnel must clean the gasket faces of the intake manifold before installation but must prevent both components from receiving debris entry. A new exhaust gas recirculation valve gasket should be installed while the EGR valve needs to be positioned correctly before securing it with bolts. Connect the vacuum hose before reattaching the EGR tube followed by installation of the idle air control valve.

The exhaust gas recirculation servicing requires hoisting your vehicle in neutral gear position. Reset the cooling system and discard the air cleaner outlet pipe. The service process begins with removing power connections from the EGR valve before cutting the upper radiator hose and coolant hose from their respective outlets. The EGR valve requires unfastening its two securing bolts then the gasket should be discarded. Follow the removal process in reverse while installing the new EGR valve by tightening the valve to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) and paying attention to properly clean and inspect all gasket surfaces. The completion of cooling system service requires you to fill and bleed the system.

Inspect the aluminum threads on the EGR valve.

A new EGR tube must be installed.

The sealing surfaces are made of soft metals, and cleaning them ensures a proper seal.

First, remove it by disconnecting the vacuum line and the EGR tube.

Install a new exhaust gas recirculation valve gasket, position the EGR valve, and secure it with bolts.
