How to Service the EGR Valve on Ford Ranger?

The EGR valve should be serviced by disconnection of battery, emptying of the cooling system, and removing of the coolant by hose and electrical connector. In manual transmissions, take away the shifter, driveshaft and exhaust downpipe. In support, loosen connectors, and cut off the crossmember. Open the EGR valve, change gaskets and re-assemble.

How to Service the EGR Valve on Ford Mustang?

It is necessary to disconnect the vacuum hose and the EGR tube, remove two bolts holding the valve and gasket in order to service the EGR valve. Fit the new EGR valve in place, with a new gasket, and undo the steps the same way. The same is the case with 4.6L, 2 V and 3.8L.
