2000 Ford Expedition Antenna Cable Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the rear antenna cable on 2000 Ford Expedition?
A: The servicing process for the rear antenna cable must start with taking off the right-hand scuff plate and right-hand A-pillar lower trim panel. The repair process requires first severing the rear antenna lead-in cable from the front antenna lead-in cable which must be followed by unmounting the right-hand rear door scuff plate and right-hand rear quarter trim. You should access the rear antenna cable connection by lowering the headliner and then remove the rear lead-in cable from the antenna cable. First remove the nut from the ground plate then extract the ground plate before cutting off the antenna cable ends. Cut both ends from the antenna cable before finishing the remaining part by taping it to the wiring harness because the antenna needs to remain connected to the harness as one system. To install the new cable follow all removal steps by taping or wiring the cable to the wiring harness to block noise.
