Ford F-250 Super Duty A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Service the Suction A/C Accumulator on Ford F-250 Super Duty?
A: The service of the suction accumulator requires refrigerant recovery along with disconnecting the A/C cycling switch electrical connector. Begin by taking off the right-hand fender splash shield followed by disconnection of the suction accumulator outlet fitting nut which requires discarding both O-ring seal and gasket seal. Apply torque of 15 Nm (11 lb-ft) when installing the suction accumulator fitting. The service procedure requires removing two nuts securing the suction accumulator while you should tighten these to 7 Nm (62 lb-in) before reinstalling them. Remove the evaporator outlet fitting by disconnecting it and throw away the present O-ring seals. The suction accumulator removal demands a reverse installation process with new O-ring seals and fresh gasket seal. The correct amount of clean PAG oil should be applied for lubricating the refrigerant system before evacuation and leak tests followed by refrigerant charging.
