    A: Begin front control arm servicing by loosening wheel nuts before raising and supporting the vehicle while removing the wheel. A soft cloth should protect the ball joint seal during servicing before the lower arm ball joint can be removed by dismounting its bolt and ball joint assembly. Suspend the removal of the lower arm by first disassembling the front bolt then detracting the rear clamp bolts to permit lower arm separation. Installation requires new ball bearing washers and nuts as well as bolts 1 and 3 which need torque-to-yield application. The procedure to install lower arm bolts requires a five-step process which starts with nut 1 reaching 100 Nm for the first stage and continuing to nut 1 an additional 60° in the second stage and moving onto nut 2 reaching 120 Nm in the third stage before tightening bolt 3 to 120 Nm in the fourth stage and finally tightening bolt 3 another 90° while ensuring a torque value between 170 - 230 Nm after stage five. The ball joint should receive the heat shield before you install the lower arm ball joint and its bolt.
