2001 Ford Ranger A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Accumulator on 2001 Ford Ranger?
A: Service of the HVAC accumulator starts by completing Refrigerant Discharging along with Recovery Procedure steps. When servicing the A/C cycling switch and suction accumulator lines remove the electrical connectors and discard the O-ring seals by putting the tubes under a back up wrench for protection. The suction accumulator service requires removal of its three bracket screws followed by extraction of the suction accumulator. Follow the uninstallation steps in reverse order to install the A/C cycling switch onto the new suction accumulator when required. Lubricate the refrigerant system properly with PAG oil along with equivalent products and install O-ring seals that received lubrication in PAG oil or equivalent solutions. Trap, vacuum and charge the refrigerant system as the last step.
