First disconnect the battery ground cable before you remove the accessory drive belt and the oil level indicator tube by removing its bolt. Operation on the upper intake manifold leads to subsequent removal of the A/C compressor and its bracket with three bolt and one stud removal sequence. Users must disconnect the dash panel ground cable from the intake manifold stud before unfastening the 42-pin wiring connector from the retainer on the lower intake manifold and removing the spring lock coupling. Then proceed to disconnect engine control wiring connectors that are present on the fuel injectors. Start by removing the engine lifting eye by removing one bolt and one nut before proceeding to detach the lower intake manifold after unscrewing its eight bolts and discarding the gasket. Follow the reverse steps for installation while applying the manifold bolts in two alternating torque ranges starting at 7-10 Nm (62-88 inch lbs.) followed by 26-38 Nm (20-28 ft. lbs.) according to the designated sequence.
