2000 Lincoln Continental A/C Switch Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the A/C Switch control assembly on 2000 Lincoln Continental?
A: The service process for the control assembly begins by taking out the screws to access and lower the instrument panel steering column cover followed by moving the instrument panel finish panel into position. The instrument panel finish panel can be separated from the instrument panel through screw removal and clips disengagement. Press the retaining tabs of both the automatic temperature control sensor hose and elbow while detaching them from the instrument panel finish panel in the same manner as the in-car temperature sensor removal through its retaining tabs followed by removal from the trim panel. Begin with radio chassis screw removal to move the chassis after which proceed to remove screws that allow removal of the electronic automatic temperature control module from the instrument panel. Roof removal of the electronic automatic temperature control module requires detaching vacuum harness connector nuts and vacuum harness connector while disconnecting electrical connectors to free the module. Set up the installation of the device by performing the removal steps backward.
