How to service and repair the shift cable on 2001 Ford Windstar?

To change the service cable, be sure to place the gearshift lever in the OD position. Unscrew the shift cable out of the steering column and assembly arm and out of the bracket. When not fitting a new shift cable and bracket, remove the old one. To install it, take the reversal of the removal process and alter the shift cable.
