2002 Ford Thunderbird Air Filter Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the air filter element on 2002 Ford Thunderbird?
A: Before servicing the air filter item you must unclamp the outlet tube from the Mass Airflow sensor. Begin by opening the air cleaner snaps while placing the outlet side of the Air Cleaner (ACL) to one side. Simple hand movement is adequate to remove the air cleaner (ACL) element since there is no tool requirement for this job. The first step should be to remove the air cleaner (ACL) element by hand. The air cleaner housing requires a complete grommet seating to block unmetered air from entering the engine during installation. The installation process should follow the steps in reverse order from uninstallation.
