Service the air cleaner element by first disconnection the crankcase vent tube from the air cleaner outlet pipe. After loosening the clamps disconnect the air cleaner outlet pipe at both the throttle body and the air cleaner cover before removing it. During reinstallation you should tighten the outlet pipe to 4 Nm (35 lb-in). Element 2 of the maintenance requires disconnecting the electrical connector which powers the MAF sensor. The air cleaner cover can be eliminated manually without requiring tools through removing two air cleaner housing clamps to separate the air cleaner cover from the air cleaner tray. To install the new element place the alignment notches of the air cleaner cover onto the air cleaner tray before refitting it exactly as you did during removal.

Before servicing the air filter item you must unclamp the outlet tube from the Mass Airflow sensor. Begin by opening the air cleaner snaps while placing the outlet side of the Air Cleaner (ACL) to one side. Simple hand movement is adequate to remove the air cleaner (ACL) element since there is no tool requirement for this job. The first step should be to remove the air cleaner (ACL) element by hand. The air cleaner housing requires a complete grommet seating to block unmetered air from entering the engine during installation. The installation process should follow the steps in reverse order from uninstallation.

The first step to service the air filter element includes loosening the outlet tube clamp of the Air Cleaner (ACL) at the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor then opening the snaps to move the outlet side of the air cleaner to the side. The Air Cleaner (ACL) element needs only hand manipulation because its removal requires no tools. The grommet which seals the air cleaner housing should be completely seated when installing the new element because it prevents unmetered air from entering the engine. The new air cleaner element requires installation through the alignment notch to match up inlet and outlet sections before doing a reverse procedure to finish installation.

The first step for servicing the air cleaner element involves disconnecting the crankcase vent tube quick connect coupling from its position on the air cleaner outlet pipe. The brake aspirator tube must be fully inside the air cleaner outlet pipe to avoid vacuum leaks before disconnecting the tube. Open the two clamps to remove the air cleaner outlet pipe from the throttle body and air cleaner cover before extraction of the pipe while reattaching it at 4 Nm (35 lb-in). The procedure requires removal of the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector. To extract the air cleaner cover one can do it by hand while simply unhooking the two air cleaner housing clamps which will let you separate the air cleaner cover from its air cleaner tray. Put the air cleaner element in place while aligning the air cleaner cover to the tray by using the notches which are present for alignment purposes. Reinstall the parts in reverse order of removal.
