2002 Ford Thunderbird Fan Motor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the radiator cooling fan motor and shroud on 2002 Ford Thunderbird?
A: Starting the radiator cooling fan motor and shroud repair requires the drainage of engine cooling system fluids. The upper radiator sight shield and air cleaner outlet tube should be removed first. Swing the upper radiator hose next to remove the following steps: six bolts along with two brackets holding the support. Position the receiver drier aside when you remove the bolt and disconnect the A/C line from the fan shroud and the dual-flow coolant valve electrical connector. Approach the electric water pump next by removing its bolt to allow setting it off to the side and disconnect the high-pressure cooling fan bracket and line before checking the seal and replacing it if needed. First separate the return hose from the fan shroud before placing it aside. Then remove the two bolts fitting the fan shroud assembly into position. First step is to disconnect the return hose from both the cooling fan and shroud assembly before you can remove the complete cooling fan and shroud assembly. Detach the A/C condenser while disconnecting the lower radiator hose. First remove two bolts to position the multi-cooler assembly aside and then proceed to remove the bolts and condenser support brackets before removing the radiator item. You should perform reverse installation steps after finishing removal.
