2002 Lincoln Blackwood A/C Accumulator Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the A/C Accumulator on 2002 Lincoln Blackwood?
A: The servicing process for the HVAC accumulator starts with disconnecting the battery ground cable while recovering any refrigerant present. The service starts with making cable end disconnects from the junction block and removing the junction block splash shield. Then disconnect the junction block bracket with its screws while separating the connector. Disconnect the electrical connector of the A/C cycling switch and the spring lock coupling from the suction accumulator. Specific installation requires disconnecting the suction accumulator bracket clamp bolt and removing the suction accumulator spring lock coupling from the A/C evaporator core until you can remove the suction accumulator together with the A/C cycling switch from the top of the component. Installation requires reversing the removal steps along with service of the new suction accumulator using PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C) or an equivalent which meets Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
