2002 Lincoln Continental Coolant Reservoir Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service the coolant reservoir on 2002 Lincoln Continental?
A: Service operations on coolant reservoirs start by draining the engine cooling system until the coolant empties from the degas bottle. Secondly remove the radiator overflow hose from its position on the degas bottle. The power steering oil reservoir must be repositioned after removing its two screws to enable access to service it. Remove the degas bottle hose which connects to the engine coolant level sensor before removing the attached hose. First remove the degas bottle retainers by taking out their securing bolt and nut before pulling out the bottle from the vehicle. Installation of the new degas bottle requires following the steps in the reverse order from bottle removal.
