How to service the catalytic converter on 2002 Lincoln LS?

The servicing process of the catalytic converter begins with raising and supporting the vehicle. The service requires disconnecting both H02S connectors and both catalyst monitor connectors. Start by removing the four converter nuts followed by removing the three-way catalytic converter unit itself. You must move both HO2S sensors as well as the two catalyst monitors when installing a new TWC. You need to use High Temperature Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant F6AZ-9L494-AA or an equivalent material which satisfies Ford specification ESE-M12A4-A to coat the sensor and monitor threads before installation. The final step of installation includes following all steps in reverse order for the removal process.
