How to service the rear window wiper motor on 2003 Ford Escape?

Starting the service of the rear window wiper motor requires you to first lift the pivot arm into vertical position followed by removing its locking tab after which you can extract the pivot arm. The service on the rear wiper motor begins with removal of the rear wiper motor shaft nut cover and its shaft nut. Proceed to open the liftgate before you take off the rear wiper motor plastic cover. First disconnect the electrical connector then remove the nut along with bolt holding the rear wiper motor until you can take it out. Installing the component requires performing all steps in reverse order compared to removal.
