  • Q: How to service and repair the heater core on 2003 Ford F-150?
A: Service and repair of the heater core starts with draining off the radiator fluid. You must follow correct procedures when removing the instrument panel then the body and frame and interior trim and dashboard/instrument panel components need to be addressed. Begin the heater core service by disconnecting hose couplings before removing the A/C plenum adapter by detaching its screw and adapter. Disengage the vacuum line from its mount and set the relay bracket to the side following screw disassembly. Start dismantling the plenum chamber top through screw removal of the 15 screws. Remove the blend door assembly after taking it out from the case and extract the heater core. Reverse the removal steps while applying coolant hose lubricant or plain water on the coolant hoses to install.
