Ford F-150 Heater Core Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the heater core on Ford F-150?
A: The service and repair process of the heater core begins by disconnecting the battery followed by draining the cooling system. The first step towards instrument panel removal requires following correct procedures for dashboard and interior trim extraction. Pressing the holding tabs will create an opportunity to separate the heater water hoses from the heater core once the panel has been taken out. First remove the A/C plenum demister adapter by uninstalling its screw then removing the adapter. The vacuum line requires removal before you unscrew the bracket screws which enables heater core bracket extraction. The next step requires removal of the plenum chamber top after unscrewing its 13 screws. Remove the blend door assembly first before pulling out the case and ultimately extract the heater core. The installation process requires following backward the previous removal procedure while applying MERPOL(R) matching Ford specification ESE-M99B144-B or using plain water for coolant hose lubrication.
