2003 Ford Ranger Antenna Cable Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the one-piece antenna cable on 2003 Ford Ranger?
A: An antenna cable repair starts with removing the radio chassis while the antenna lead-in cable remains in position. Open the glove box door and release its tabs before lowering it to its full extent. Pull the rubber grommet from the sheet metal after disconnecting the antenna lead-in cable wire clip to lead the antenna through the opening. The radio antenna mast requires counterclockwise rotation followed by unsnap removal of the radio antenna base cap and subsequent removal of the antenna base along with lead-in cable by unscrewing. Lift out the antenna base to disconnect the lead-in cable while pushing the rubber grommet through the sheet metal for accessing the hole where the antenna cable will pass through. Reinstall the equipment using the opposite procedure of removal.
