How to service and repair the front parking brake cable on 2003 Ford Taurus?

A proper repair of the front parking brake cable requires complete release of the parking brake system. First deal with the scuff plate removal followed by accessing the carpet to feed both front parking brake cable and conduit grommet through the floor pan. Apply pressure to the retainer to disconnect the front parking brake cable together with the conduit which requires pulling the combined components through the parking brake control. Use the hoist to elevate the vehicle up before applying pressure to the rod and slowly turning the adjustment nut to remove both cable and conduit from the adjuster. The cable and conduit can be detached from the body bracket after retainer compression. Remove the cable and conduit from the bracket. The opposite procedure can be applied for installation which includes parking brake cable adjustment.
