The first step to service or repair the transmission mount of a 4F50N Automatic Transaxle installed on a 3.0L 2V engine requires raising the vehicle before removing the left-hand wheel and tire. The high lift transmission jack must support the transaxle but the engine height should not exceed normal limits to prevent damage to the tripod CV joint and resultant inside component separation with halfshaft failure. Irritate the engine and transaxle support insulator by unthreading the bolts and releasing nuts before lifting the transmission to decrease weight on the insulator. Position the rear engine support bracket to the side without complete removal by first removing the bolts then placing it in its adjusted location. Then remove the engine support insulator from the rear section. The installation procedure begins with placing the rear engine support insulator then adding the rear engine support bracket with all its corresponding bolts. Tighten the bolts of the support insulator while keeping them loose before completely removing the transmission jack and completing bolt tightening. Reinstall the LH wheel together with its tire until the car reaches ground level.
