2004 Ford Focus A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Suction A/C Accumulator on 2004 Ford Focus?
A: The suction accumulator service requires vehicle positioning on a hoist while setting the gear selector to NEUTRAL and recovering refrigerant. Start by detaching the compressor manifold tube assembly from the suction accumulator keeping the O-ring seal for disposal. The servicing of the suction accumulator begins by removing its bracket nut together with bolts and separating the evaporator outlet line fitting from the suction accumulator while discarding all O-ring seals. The installation of the suction accumulator requires following the reverse procedure of removal while using new O-ring seals which should be lubricated with clean PAG oil and properly oiling the refrigerant system with appropriate amounts of clean PAG oil. Evacuation and leakage testing of the refrigerant system will be performed after charging.
