The coolant expansion tank service procedure starts by taking off the air cleaner box for both 3.0L and 4.0L engine models. Begin by removing the bolt then placing the speed control actuator to the side. As a first step disconnect both the washer motor electrical connector and the overflow hose from the expansion tank before draining the coolant from the tank. Before proceeding disconnect the washer motor hose. Disconnect the bottle through the removal of two nuts and two bolts. The new expansion tank requires the same steps in reverse order when installing it.
